There are many ways to price and perform snow removal services and we will do any or all of them, it is what works best for you our customer. We feel it is important to you as a purchaser of snow and ice management services that you are aware of the positives and negatives which each type of pricing strategy.
“By the hour” – this type of service is easy to price out and compare between contractors but it is hard for a customer to manage their costs on any given winter season. Some contractors are not motivated to get jobs efficiently or in a time sensitive manor if they are billing out hourly. Others have as many as 6 different hourly rates for trucks based on the size of plow and/or truck and how are you to know what type of truck or plow was used on your property at 2am? Others also have rates for foreman or managers that may or may not actually work on your property, so we encourage customers to educate themselves before signing up for any hourly type of service. We will price work out by the hour and/or by material usage if that is what you require and we do it simply without multiple rates for different types of trucks and you DO NOT pay for our in-field quality control supervisors. We have references we can provide to you about our “by the hour” pushing services.
“By the push” – this type of service is not really easy to price out as a push might happen in middle of the night or middle of the day and the contractors costs vary greatly at commercial and retail environments based on the time of the storm alone, let alone what type of snow is actually falling a heavy wet snow or a dry snow. Contractors pricing out by the push typically have a blizzard or unusual snowfall out clause that allows the contractor to revert to hourly billing for these types of storms. Other things some contractors do in this regard is provide a flat rate for 2”-8” of snowfall with a 2” trigger for snow removal, and then they in turn charge for multiple clearings during one event, which isn’t friendly to anyone’s budget. We utilize a combination on the per push and per inch pricing, but we don't charge full clearing charges on daytime (open hours) pushes so it is fair for our time and more importantly, your budget.
“By the inch” – this type of service is not really easy to price out and requires a plan be put into place to push snow in a manor that best benefits the contractor and the customer which is an efficient manor. It most instances this is the most clear and concise manor to price and bid snow removal, as the pricing structure breaks down snowfall based on the amount of snowfall that falls for event and that is what the customer pays so it is clearly straightforward for all parties involved. It allows for ease of budgeting for the customer. We utilize this pricing strategy for the benefits of customer budgets, as it is simple and straight forward for all parties. “By the season” - this type of service is not really easy to price out and requires again a plan be put into place to manage snowfalls in an efficient manor by the contractor. Under experienced contractors will not take this risk, as they don’t have the resources or the knowledge to do so and this makes for the easiest and most budget friendly service we offer. Our GURANTEED PLAN allows for us to establish with you a trigger for snow plowing, parameters for lot salting, sidewalk de-icing and sidewalk clearing and then provide you a ‘seasonal’ number that will be the same for a period or contract period. We provide this service on a 1-season rate or up to a 3-season rate and we can bill this out over 4 or 5 winter months or for the whole 12 months of a year which ever fits your budget needs the best. |
